How I Got Started
My name is Kim. I got started raising birds about 26 years ago. I purchased a 5 month old Red Lorde Amazon parrot. When I took her home, she regressed (would not eat on her own). I resorted to hand feeding her to keep her alive. This sparked something within me. I developed a love for hand feeding because you form an unbelievable bond with the bird. Shortly after this event, I met a now friend of mine who had lovebirds. I fell in love with them. I purchased a hand tamed lovebird of my own. When she passed away, instead of looking to replace her with another hand tame, I decided to start breeding my own so that I could tame them myself and allow others to have the joy I had with her.
COCKATIELS
A few years later, I was introduced to cockatiels. They are a slightly bigger bird. What appealed to me with this breed is that they have the ability to talk. I wanted to take on the challenge of not only raising them but teaching them to talk as well. This is a task that is challenging but rewarding.
Just recently I began with the green cheek conures. I enjoy this breed because they bring a new flavor to the table. They are slightly more sassy then cockatiels. They also have beautiful mutations and colors. They have a unique personality that will make you laugh, even on a very bad day! They love to lay on their backs and are extreemly playful!
